Flour Beetles are pests of cereal silos. The flour beetle destroys
wheat and other grains and is adapted to survive in very dry
environments. It can withstand high amounts of radiation (even more
than cockroaches). This is a major pest in the agricultural industry,
and highly resistant to pesticides. For this reason, we reccommend our
non-toxic Cryonite treatment for Flour Beetles and other grain-eating pests.
Flour beetles attack stored grain products (flour, cereals, pasta,
biscuits, beans, nuts, seed, etc.) causing economic loss and damage. They may
cause an allergic reaction to some people, but are not known to spread
disease and cause no damage to structures or furniture.
They are long-lived and may live for more than three years.
There are also other, less common grain-eating pests, such as weevils in Cyprus.
